Concealed Carry Legging Roundup – Leggings I actually wear (and trust)

Updated November, 2025

Of all the people obtaining concealed carry permits, women are the fastest-growing demographic. So, it’s no surprise that companies are designing holsters with us in mind. Combine that with a leggings craze that is still going strong, and you get leggings intended to conceal a firearm. The trend has been exploding, with new leggings being released every year. But with so many options, how can you decide which to buy?

I’ve done the work for you, so you can see a side-by-side comparison of these popular gun leggings.

What should a good pair of concealed carry leggings do?

Of course, comparisons can be subjective, and certain features may be more important to you than others. So, here’s what I considered when testing each pair.

Support

The waistband of your leggings should be sturdy and tight enough to support the weight of your gun. Fit comes into play here, as does the weight of your gun. Most leggings are designed to support micro-compact to compact firearms. Medium support may be sufficient for casual, everyday wear, but maximum support is necessary for activities that involve increased movement, such as running.

  • Adding a Kydex trigger guard to your leggings will increase effectiveness in the following categories:

Protect the trigger

Most CCW Leggings fall into the category of “soft holsters,” which means there’s risk of the trigger being pulled through the material. You can easily avoid this risk by adding a hard trigger cover, which we do recommend. At the very least, you could employ a manual safety (but educate yourself on the associated risks – Should I use a manual safety?).

Retention

This refers to the degree to which your holster securely holds the gun in the holster pocket. When held upside down, a regular Kydex holster should be snug enough to keep the gun inside, yet not so tight that it’s difficult to draw. When it comes to leggings, however, retention may come from compression of the waistband or a retention strap. When relying on compression, ensure that your body won’t push the gun out of the pocket. For example, when engaging your glutes while sprinting or squatting, do your muscles push the gun out of the back holster pocket?

A retention strap certainly solves this problem, but it does so at the expense of increasing the time it takes to draw your gun. The goal is for the gun to be fully retained and cannot fall out or be pushed upward and out of the holster.

Ease of draw

You should be able to draw your gun quickly and smoothly without fumbling. The ideal setup would be a holster that maintains its shape and positions the grip above the waistline, allowing you to wrap your entire hand around the grip. However, this could mean less concealment and/or support, depending on the design. So as you can see, there are trade-offs.

Re-holstering

You should be able to holster your gun without “flagging” yourself or pointing the muzzle at your body. One technique to avoid this is to lean back and tilt your hips forward to the gun, which points away from your body, as you place it in the holster.

With fabric pockets, it may be tricky to avoid flagging your fingers, because it takes two hands to holster the gun. However, adding a Kydex trigger allows you to re-holster with one hand, making the action much safer.

Other considerations

When testing the leggings below, I also considered the quality, material, style, and comfort of each pair. I tested the leggings by running with a firearm, squatting, stretching, dry firing, and wearing them around the house, in the car, and in public.

What they all have in common

All of the leggings in this roundup share a few key traits: they’re built specifically for concealed carry, feature a gusseted crotch for comfort and mobility, and none fall into the category of “low support.” Each pair is designed to hold your firearm securely (either through a dedicated pocket or built-in belt loops), while maintaining a flattering, supportive fit.

In my experience, every pair is comfortable, but the type of comfort varies. High-support or belted styles provide the compression and stability needed for workouts or active days. In contrast, medium-support styles with softer fabrics offer a more forgiving feel, perfect for casual wear or those days when you want a little extra comfort.

One thing I haven’t tested yet is whether sizing down in one of the medium-support pairs would increase the overall support.

Ok, let’s get to the leggings!

Alexo Athletica Concealed Carry Legging (Matte 7/8)

(Editor’s Choice, now available in the E&A Boutique)

$109.00

SHOP ALEXO CONCEALED CARRY LEGGINGS

If I could keep only one pair of carry leggings in rotation, it would be this one. The Matte 7/8 Carrywear legging is designed for runners, offering a waistband and fabric that deliver optimal support and a very flattering silhouette. The matte material is like brushed microfiber, commonly found in higher-end athletic brands, but slightly sturdier. Be warned, they pull on snug (so you may have to shimmy around and jump to get them on), but once they’re up, they smooth you in all the right places while moving comfortably with you throughout the day.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: Ambidextrous Design – right and left appendix carry pocket; plus, right and left kidney carry pockets. (No retention strap; retention comes from the elastic pocket.)
  • Additional Pockets: Two outer side pockets for your phone and small essentials.
  • Fabric: Full coverage matte material (72% nylon/ 27% spandex) with a soft, brushed feel.
  • Sizes XS-2XL
  • 7/8 length (For reference, I’m 5’2”. In the picture, I’m wearing a pair that is too small for me, and it almost looks like a cropped length. In my correct size, it hits right at my ankle.)
  • Inseam: 24.5”

What I love: The snug waistband provides excellent retention, keeping your firearm securely in place without digging in. Alexo recommends the DeSantis FlexTech Pocket Holster as a trigger cover, which holds a low profile. Due to its collapsible design, re-holstering requires both hands and careful muzzle awareness. That said, when you combine the firm compression of the waistband with the low profile of the FlexTech, you get exceptional concealment without added bulk.

For a holster that maintains its shape, I recommend pairing the pocket with a small Kydex trigger guard (our Elegant & Armed Kydex with an Ulticlip is a great option). It adds a hard trigger cover and click-in retention for smoother re-holstering. Though it may add a touch of bulk, the tradeoff is worth the added security.

Who should buy: Anyone looking for a high-support, flattering legging that works equally well for workouts and everyday wear. Ideal for women who prefer a snug fit that enhances concealment, offers firm support, and remains comfortable throughout the day.

Rounded Tactical Belt Loop Leggings

$64.99

SHOP ROUNDED GEAR
(affiliate link)

These leggings are designed to be worn with a gun belt, a feature that sets them apart from most concealed carry leggings. Instead of built-in gun pockets, Rounded includes sturdy belt loops sized for 1.5”-1.75” belts, allowing you to pair them with a proper concealed carry belt and IWB Kydex holster. This setup is arguably the most secure and practical way to carry, offering excellent retention, complete trigger protection, and easy one-hand holstering.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: None. Designed to pair with a belt and holster
  • Additional pockets: Two outer side pockets for phone and other essentials
  • Fabric: 80% polyester / 20% spandex (soft, brushed microfiber feel)
  • Sizes XS-2XL
  • Design Update: Now available in a new motocross-style with pleated detailing

What I love: The fabric is extremely comfortable and feels more like yoga leggings than compression running tights. The mid-rise waistband placed the belt on my hip bones, but the fabric had plenty of give, so I could pull it higher and tighten the belt to avoid this. When paired with a belt and Kydex holster, these leggings deliver the best holstering ergonomics, featuring a smooth, one-handed draw and reliable retention, even during high-activity days or while running.

I also tested these without the belt and holster while rock climbing. The leggings fit snugly around my thighs, which caused them to slide down slightly over time, and I occasionally had to pull the waistband up. With a belt, however, they stayed perfectly in place and felt exceptionally secure with no slipping or shifting.

Who should buy: Anyone who values one-hand re-holstering, maximum retention, and the freedom of less compressive legging. Ideal for those who prefer using a supportive belt system with a larger firearm or want unrestricted movement for all-day wear.

Alexo Athletica Range Legging

$99.00 Shop

These leggings were designed for the range, and it shows. I first tested them during a weekend-long women’s firearm training, and I was instantly sold. It was a win to wear stretch pants on the range, which allowed me to run a proper belt and Kydex holster, and store my spare magazines.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: None. Reinforced belt loops pair perfectly with a concealed carry belt and holster.
  • Additional pockets: 4 mesh magazine pockets, two deep thigh pockets for your phone or larger magazines, and a 3” reinforced gear loop for clipping gloves, earmuffs, or other range tools (does not come with clip).
  • Fabric: Full-coverage nylon/spandex blend with a soft, matte, brushed feel.
  • Fit: Midrise waistband with an inside silicone strip to keep them from sliding down.
  • Inseam: 27”
  • Sizes: XS-2XL

What I love: Like the 7/8 Carrywear Leggings, this pair fits snugly, smoothing you in all the right places. The 4-way stretch fabric strikes the perfect balance of being soft yet athletic, supportive yet still allowing you to move. There’s an extra belt loop in the middle back, which helps keep the waistband from sliding down. Combine that with the silicone grip inside the wristband, and everything is sure to stay in place, even with a fully loaded belt. The pockets gave me room for magazines, my phone, and other small tools.

After a long day, my hips were a little sore from the weighted belt pressing down on them, but honestly, I haven’t found a single pair of pants that doesn’t do that after hours of wear on the range. Overall, these leggings are perfect for the range.

Who should buy: Anyone seeking supportive, flattering leggings for firearm training. Perfect for practicing mag changes, drawing from concealment. They are functional and reliable.

KOA Athletics – Organic Cotton Leggings

$97.00 Shop

The KOA Athletics Leggings are designed with belt loops for use with a CCW Belt and Kydex Holster. However, what truly sets them apart is the use of organic cotton fabric. Unlike most performance leggings made with synthetics, these are crafted from natural fibers that are gentler on your skin and better for your health.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: None – designed to pair with a belt and holster
  • Additional pockets: Two outer side pockets for phone or essentials
  • Fabric: 90% Organic Cotton / 10% Spandex (GOTS certified - Global Textile Standard)
  • Sizes: S-L
  • Fit: High-waisted, full-length

What I love: KOA’s website highlights the health and environmental concerns associated with synthetic fabrics used by mainstream brands, and I appreciate that they’re offering a clean, non-toxic alternative for concealed carry. Concealed carry itself is niche, but non-toxic concealed carry is about as unique as it gets. The fabric feels soft and has a matte finish, making it easy to style as everyday wear. The seams do have a slightly athletic look, but they’re subtle.

The belt loops are extra wide and strategically placed, so there's no sagging or sliding, even with a loaded belt. Because the blend contains only 10% spandex, the leggings may stretch slightly during wear but return to their original shape after washing.

Who should buy: Women who care about what goes into their clothing, especially those looking to avoid synthetics and choose natural, non-toxic fabrics. Ideal for individuals who prefer a supportive belt system, one-handed re-holstering, and maximum retention.

Dene Adams Concealed Carry Leggings

$109.99 Shop

Since first writing this post, Dene Adams has updated their concealed carry leggings, so this review has been refreshed to reflect the new design. The original version was heavy-duty and incredibly snug/supportive, perfect for intense workouts, but a bit too compressive for all-day wear. The latest version is a significant improvement in comfort. The fabric is soft, flexible, with a fit that feels more like yoga leggings than sleek running tights. Based on their sizing chart, I should wear a medium, but I sized down to a small, and I’m glad I did. I’d rate this pair as having medium support, and they felt secure but not restrictive.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: One front pocket (available in right- or left-hand options)
  • Additional pockets: Two outer side pockets for phone or essentials
  • Retention: Comes with a detachable “breakaway” Velcro strap
  • Trigger guard options: Built-in slot to slide a credit card for basic trigger coverage.  Compatible with their universal clam shell holster (sold separately). Or my preferred setup: a Kydex IWB holster molded to your specific gun, which clips to the outer strap for extra stability.
  • Gun size: designed for sub-compact pistols and smaller guns
  • Fabric: soft nylon-Lycra blend with a double-brushed microfiber feel (full coverage).
  • Sizes S-2xl

What I love: The gun pocket is impressively versatile, offering three different ways to protect the trigger, tailored to your preference. Out of the box, the credit-card-style trigger guard works with the breakaway strap, but that combo isn’t my favorite because it slows your draw and doesn’t feel as secure as a molded holster. In my opinion, the best setup is a slim Kydex holster for improved retention and faster access. There’s a strap on the outside of the gun pocket, which allows you to clip a regular holster to (like the one pictured). You could also purchase Dene Adam’s own clam shell design, which offers a universal fit for most firearms.

Pocket placement is slightly more toward the hip than that of other brands, which places it directly over my hip bone. For comfort, I prefer to adjust the pants so they sit closer to my center line.

Who should buy: Anyone seeking a comfortable and discreet carry option for daily life. These are great for women who prioritize softness and flexibility over maximum compression or who want a pair that works with their existing holster (since you can attach a normal clip to the strap outside the pocket). Perfect for low-impact movement, errands, or just all-day wear when comfort is key.

Undertech Undercover – Original Concealment Leggings

$89.99 (On sale for $39.99) Shop

One thing I like about the Undertech leggings is how easily they can be styled as everyday clothes. No shiny logos, no athletic-looking seams; they resemble regular black leggings that can be paired with a tunic or oversized sweatshirt and worn with boots or sneakers. The fabric is soft yet thick and opaque enough that you can’t see through it. The waistline support feels medium for a subcompact firearm, making these appropriate for casual carry, walking, errands, and low-impact movement.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: Two pockets with elastic retention straps – one over your appendix, one at the small of your back; available for right or left-hand draw.
  • Additional pocket: A small, hidden pocket in the waistband for keys, cards, ChapStick, and more.
  • Trigger guard: Not included (can be easily added with a small Kydex guard).
  • Fabric: 80% nylon/ 13% elastane – soft, comfortable stretch
  • Sizes XS-3XL
  • Inseam: Full length 29” or crop 21”

What I love: They blend right into my wardrobe and feel more like regular clothes than tactical gear. The fabric is soft and comfortable, almost pajama-like, yet still durable and high-quality, holding up beautifully through repeated wear and washing. The hidden waistband pocket is a thoughtful touch for small essentials; I usually slip my house key in there for quick walks around the neighborhood. I’m not a big fan of retention straps unless I’m just carrying around the house, so I prefer to add a Kydex holster inside the pocket and secure it with an Ulticlip for a safer, more stable setup.

Who should buy: Women with long legs or anyone who wants leggings that double as everyday wear. Perfect for those who value comfort and style over maximum athletic retention. For increased safety and retention, pair them with a small Kydex holster and Ulticlip. This adds a hard trigger cover and improves re-holstering while still fitting neatly inside the pocket.

Girls With Guns – Eclipse Leggings

$90.00-$100.00 (7 colors) Shop

The Eclipse leggings come in a variety of great colors and feature a sleek, sweat-wicking, and comfortable fabric that is also squat-proof. They include a collapsible, ambidextrous gun pocket with a sewn-in trigger guard and an internal retention strap. It features valuable and unique elements, including a hidden pocket in the waistband and an elastic band inside the waistband to secure pepper spray or a flashlight.

Specs & Fit Highlights

  • Gun pockets: Two front pockets for ambidextrous carry; collapsible design with a Velcro retention strap.
  • Additional pockets: Two outer side pockets for phone or extras; a small back waistband pocket for a key or credit card; an elastic band inside the waistband for pepper spray or a small flashlight.
  • Trigger guard: Flexible plastic square sewn into the pocket.
  • Fabric: 87% polyester/ 13% Spandex – sweat-wicking and squat-proof.
  • Fit: listed as 7/8 but fits more like full length.

What I love: The color options and extra pockets are real wins, especially the tiny back waistband pocket for a house key. I also appreciate that the gun pocket sits closer to my center line, so the gun doesn’t rest on top of my hipbone. The fabric feels high-quality and performs well for day-to-day wear.

Special notes: If you use a Kydex holster for trigger protection, the retention strap can be removed. If you do remove it, I recommend tucking in a tank top or shirt to keep the exposed Velcro from rubbing your skin. With medium support, these leggings strike a great balance between Structure and comfort, making them ideal for low-impact activities and everyday concealed carry.

Who should buy: Anyone who loves stylish, functional leggings with plenty of pocket space and color options. Perfect for casual everyday wear, running errands, or carrying pepper spray or other essentials hands-free.

Final Notes on Safety & Setup

Trigger protection: if a pocket uses soft material or a soft holster, plan on using two hands to re-holster and practice muzzle awareness. A small Kydex trigger guard (or our Elegant & Armed Ulticlilp Kydex) adds a hard cover and a cleaner retention, at the expense of a little extra bulk in the pocket.

Practice: Whichever pair you choose, practice drawing, re-holstering, and moving in them at home until you’re confident and capable.
